I have my CDL test in a week and a half and started to think about what companies I want to work for. My driving record is not spotless though. Last year I was in an at fault rear end collision and cited for following too closely.

I'd like to do OTR or regional at least when I get my CDL but does anyone know what companies would hire me with following too closely on my MVR? I thought about just applying to a bunch and seeing who responds but I don't want to waste time applying to a company that is a guaranteed no either. The companies I have an interest in are Averitt, Maverick, Prime, Millis, Roehl, and NTB (so mostly mega carriers).

Apply anyway to as many as you want. Sometimes these companies will surprise you.
Try Craigslist for those smaller outfits.
    Here's some more to try:
    Nick Strimbu Inc.
    Calex Logistics
    Magnum Ltd.
    Freymiller
    Navajo Express
    Transport America
    Abilene Motor Express
    Green Transportation - Holland,MI
    Britton Transport
Start submitting applications right now, don't wait until graduation.

Here's some companies that don't require anothere physical; they will accept your cdl school physical. They will just do a urine drug test and blood pressure test.
    Navajo Express
    Freymiller
    J&R Schugel
    Magnum Ltd.
    Keep us posted!

You oveously went to driving schools I would say any of the starter student based company's would hire you. It a year old shouldn't be a problume just be carful keep your nose clean for anouther year when you start and it won't be an issue frome that point on.

You better not have a Rear End Collision in a CMV anytime in your Career, as it may be the last time you will drive for any Company.

No one has to tell me.

Ask the Company you're applying to and their Insurance Company.

I guarantee your Application will be tossed into the Round Filing Cabinet.

A Rear End Collision is a At Fault Preventable, no Driver can argue their way out of that one.

I had one years ago, wasn't a problem. You just don't want more than one in 36 months. For most companies. That doesn't matter if it was in a cmv or not.
