Home. In oh so typical going home fashion, 80 was closed in PA. 2 hour detour. Even more typical, they opened it up before we even gor back to the interstate. That and running slow all morning with the snow I'm happy I decided to squeeze 2 hours out at the end of my day yesterday just in case the weather was bad. Otherwise I'd be sitting somewhere in PA being really pissed off for 10 hours.

Home till Monday. After some adventures in snow yesterday and today. Now I know better.

But I'm not going to just leave this without the story!

So, I deliver to Bedford Pa yesterday morning. Get an assignment to pick up in Parsons WV. QC routes me from Bedford down 220 to 68 and from 68 down 219 the whole way.

It's snowing already. So, silly me looks on the map and sees it's a truck route and thinks "well, how bad can it really be?"

It can be quite bad actually. MD side of 219 was ok. But as soon as I crossed into WV the road treatment ended and adventures began. Took an hour and a half to get to the 6% 6 mile downgrade to get to parsons. And then another 30 minutes to drive down that going 10-15mph.

I have officially drifted an 18 wheeler now. All 18 wheels locked up and sliding. Fun times.

One of the highlights of the drive was the CB. Other drivers getting on there and asking "Schneider, did you get lost or something?"

The other was the other drivers faces when I got to parsons. My truck and trailer were completely covered in dirt and road spray. You could barely tell it was a Schneider. And me asking them for directions on how to get out (going back to Carlisle) and saying I came south on 219 to get there.... yeah. It was great.

So, in solution mode I went south on 219 to 33 to 79 to 68 to get back to Carlisle. Last night was spent at the pilot just south of 68 on 79 in WV. And this morning I decided to get up nice and early so I could get home early!

And ran straight into a pile of snow on 68 in MD. This time around 68 in WV was fine. And in MD it wasn't treated. So... made it to the pilot at exit 22 and stopped for two hours. There was so much snow on the interstate at that point that I was just following tire tracks and hoping they wouldn't lead me off the shoulder and a cliff....

After a couple hours, Maryland decided to send a plow down the interstate though. And I managed to get to Carlisle and then back to Charlottesville from there. Yay.

    ATL oc.
Truck and trailer parked between gate and fuel bays. Plenty of parking currently in yard, been sitting there since last night I heard.

Waiting on planners to find a load home.
So much for busy freight season.

    Friday Thanks this.

I'm Wayside off 75 in Michigan, heading to GB for a drop and pickup going to Texas. Really going to enjoy the snow and blow for the next 36 hours. Only good thing cleared to drop a Target DC load early. Plus seeing the grandkids will be awesome!!!

Pilot, Dallas. Been here since yesterday afternoon. Place was full then, that early. I feel sorry for the people that work here, because I have never seen such an abundance of Savages and utterly disgusting examples of human beings.

The guy parked outside the fence, on the street, right in front of a no parking sign, strolls back, pisses right of the sidewalk, throws his trash on the ground, then walks back past his truck and walks into the store.
The flatbed drops a bag of poo next to the back of his trailer (after looking around) with a trash can 20 feet away.
Got to listen to a guy crank one out in another bathroom stall, while talking sexy to another fella via speaker phone while I was taking care of business.
Then got to hear a couple fellas discuss how to steal money from their companies fuel cards.
