Alumnus 1978 - 1982, dispatcher at #013 [Grasselli], then Central dispatch in Lionville, Laid off from #003 [Croydon] when they lost A E Sthaley to Matlack in Bensalem...

plus three summers working in the shops during college. My Uncle was a regional Maintenance Manager.

Since they've been out of business for a LOT of years, my guess, and it's just a guess mind you, is no.

 

I grew up in the northeast and used to see the Matlack and Chemical Leaman all the time up there. When I was in the Navy ('74-78), I used to drive or hitchhike from Norfolk, VA up to CT when I was on leave and especially on the Jersey Pike they'd be all over the place. What a shame that the big "investors" bought so many of the good-paying companies and drove the pay and rates into the ground.

 

I just bought this Monogram kit of a Mack R Model "one stack Mack with a shack on the back" and look forward to putting it together soon. I think I might paint it the typical Mack green and try to develop the H R Ewell logos out of East Earl, Pa.
