I would never accept a job based on a certain bonus but I would stay at a company if the bonus plan met my expectations and I was happy with my paycheck. I consider a bonus a "perk". There are certain perks at my current job that keep me here. If they change so would my employment.

If they didn't tell you how did you find out your bonus is now cancelled?I know that has to suck big time it use to depress me knowing what companies actually think about their drivers.I'll just bet corporate will be receiving a bonus.

It was supposed to be paid out on the second paycheck in December . The second paycheck came and no bonus. When drivers started asking questions they finally admitted that it was cancelled .

How was this bonus plan laid out to drivers and who was it laid out to and when? At orientation? Via a printed supplement handout? In the employee handbook? Via a Ominitracs message? Rumor in the driver's lounge in Laredo?

This post may or may not get my sympathy depending on this aspect.

See, And that kind of stuff Bothers me(and it should you too).........Trucking companies doing what they want so the Officers/shareholders/owners don't lose out on their profit margins....

This is more than just "counting on" a bonus- sure they are Nice- But don't with-hold them from your employees because upper management didn't make their share...

See, ANOTHER reason I feel ALL drivers everywhere Need Representation- Arrow trucking just for example pulled similar noise in 2010- Let alone the hundreds of these carriers that "Use" drivers and Spit them out.

Its Gotta Change Folks- Start waking up.

Im going to give some of you folks a great example on how you take car4e of your employees-

My Wifes father retired this Week from Mittal steel (Formerly LTV)-

Now-Read carefully- He was given a goodbye Party- AND he will be collecting 6 more weeks of Check for vacation accumulation (Thru feb 5) Which means he has another 6 weeks of Check coming without starting his car...

He will also be receiving $4500.00 mper Month in Pensions and His SSN- he is 73 years old

THATS How you take care of your employees at Big companies......

These Mega carriers that CAN afford these benefits simply Don't Because You guys don't Stand up for Whats right.

And they'll continue to do what they do- Do you really think after driving for JB Hunt for 45 years You'll get Anything for your loyalty?? Yeah..A Thank You (If your Lucky) And YOUR contributed 401k

Companies always hold onto secrets like that. The deeper the secret that affects drivers directly ALWAYS gets let out of the bag. It would have served the ivory tower chiefs way better to issue a warning order last week of November to prepare the work force for the possibility of no bonuses. Trying to be silent and hoping drivers do not make a scene tells me this company has no courage, no balls to stand tall and admit that the finances are crappy on their end too.

What they could have done is made up for the losses by providing drivers with a extra time off for home or perhaps a embargo on out of routing etc for those who chafe at restrictions etc. If you take something away, you need to find something to give back however small because you love the work force.

Or do you? It's not just about the money....
