If you are not happy where you are and have sufficient finances to back you through periods of drought, try Landstar. You will have to compete with a group of some FB and specialized BCOs who have been with LS for 20+ years. Their commission, fees and contract structure is different from what a newbie will sign. Landstar takes a huge chunk. Special Permits etc are your responsibility. On top of that you have to dispatch yourself until you build that "relationship". Most of the old timers never have to search for loads. The loads find them. With such crappy paying loads out there, its tough to build a relationship with anyone.
So take the plunge, see for yourself and if you don't like it, leave. You are not locked in. Leave on good terms so that you are not locked out.
