Landstar is stressful you deal with brokers .Schneider point and click the load is yours no stress for as lanes rates charge all the time study load board you be ok and about down payment put a less as possible it's better to save it .your breakeven point should be 2000 a weak after 2000 your making profit

You should call Schneider leasing they will tell you ever thing you need know you can trust them.Schneider is great place start I made more per mile other companies but over at Schneider it's more miles more net and time off ever load I run was a drop and hook that give me more time for myself instead of in my truck against a dock

I Had my Owen dot# but cost was just to high it's better to lease with a company who has a big customers base .cash flow will be more consistent but If you where to get a used truck when they break down some time it takes a week before the shop will eventually looked at it than a anther week to fix it I have bought a used truck with low miles and still broke in a few week that why I said money in the bank more important than putting a big down payment most bank ask 10 percent that's to much rates are to low it's hard to make up I would just go with a low down payment pay the truck down and save to buy it and in of the lease

Schneider trucks if new 3 year lease after that you a option to buy between 50 to 60,000 its no interest you pay the retail value of the truck

Like so often you took the words out of my mouth @mickeyrat

As to market conditions - I think 2017 is going to be like riding a drunken, pissed off bison. Anyone who tells you they know what that bison is going to do is full of it. Too many variables in play right now, and too many contrary indicators.

You have jumped your biggest hurdle in the fact your basically debt free. Overall choice is a good program. Go for it dude. If your going to take risk on do it while you have little debt. If working towards owning your own truck while learning the ropes is what your looking for I have a hard time seeing where your going wrong. Just take it seriously, and keep your debt load down. You will be fine.
