I agree only because my network teacher I have. She also teaches Vista. She said, the minimum you should have is 2gb of memory. Otherwise your system will run slow as molasses. I'm running a single P4 core 2gb of memory on XP and smooth computing. I can run several applications at a time and not worry about my system locking up. If memory was a little cheaper, I would bump it up more.

Uh...I seem to recall paying $129 for 128 meg stick just a few years ago
I have an HP...but I bought it maxed out, on memory 4 gig. So if I need more..it's a new system.
But, you're right. HP sucks for updating. -
The really disgusting thing about computers is that it seems that by time you actually buy one at a store, it's almost obsolete, as they are coming out with bigger, better, faster all the time.

Same here, and thats thanks to this thread and other folks that I heard were having problems. -
I just got word from a teacher. Java seems to be the conflicting source with this update of Firefox3. I will try to find out if they have a fix for this yet.

I dunno but I really never like FireFox.... I always preferred IE over FireFox... Now I am a Chrome fan....

Vista fixed a problem, that of surfing as administrator. I now have Vista Ultimate SP1. I'm running 1 Gig, with a Core Duo, and not having a problem.
I'm using Firefox 2, the upgrade is not going through, missing a needed file.
I normally use the desktop, but my wife picked up a virus running as administrator looking for airplane tickets, I don't have it back yet.
