I've had verbal conversations with friends, never doing ANY searching on my phone regarding the topic. Next time I was on Facebook, that very topic we were discussing was a suggested product....
Short of leaving my phone powered off, there's nothing that can be done about it.

Well as far as the selfie camera thing goes. I would almost say more than likely so. Or at least the ability to. Reason I say this I don't take pictures of myself. I never hardly ever Facebook and even when I do I don't post pictures of myself. Now I ask you this... go to Google search images and put my full name in there first and last.... scroll through all the pictures there is at least 4 pics of me but I have no knowledge of anyone ever taking.. one of those pictures is of me sitting up in my truck. Now I asked you this. How did that picture or any others get on there? I don't take stupid selfies never have. In fact I have only 3 pictures on my phone and the only thing they are of is showing the belt diagram on my lawn tractor. Somebody mentioned something earlier about having a conversation with a friend and the next time they get on Facebook and what they were talking about the next time on Facebook there was an advertisement for such. I bet I haven't been on Facebook for quite some time in fact I know I have my account deactivated at this time. Crazy world we live in these days

I just finished reading the Snowden Files, a book about that POS traitor Edward Snowden. While I can see both sides of the story and his reasons for doing what he did, what was even more alarming and eye opening was just how much the government can do, and does do. It does it with relative ease, without our permission, and without our knowledge. And yes, it did mention that they're in bed with all of the mega tech companies i.e. Google, Apple, Facebook, etc.
There is no hiding, outrunning, or outsmarting them now, unfortunately.Big Don Thanks this. -
What's more, the government need not even spy on people. People put everything out on Facebook freely.
Big Don, Getsinyourblood, 207nomad and 1 other person Thank this. -
And it amazes me that people who have active warrants out for their arrest will post things online and then wonder how and why they got caught. Then they will say that their privacy was violated and the police had no right to look at their info without a warrant. Um, no you moron, it is a public forum.Last edited: Dec 12, 2016

This is very important to consider. The collective basically gave up any reasoning to oppose any loss of privacy imposed by big corporation or big government when they eagerly participated in every "social networking" apparatus that came down the pike.
This misguided and hypocritical mentality is very common throughout society ... pick and choose which rights you want to get behind or oppose, depending on the current day and POV. But I like the technology that we are seeing today and really don't want to go back to the 1960's or to a less-advanced era. As "Orwellean" as things may seem now, they could [will?] get much worse. If you listen to many, "tracking" people with implanted chips is what we need to be doing (illegal migrants, convicted felons, etc), and this may be where we're headed, but that will just be the next step towards what?207nomad Thanks this. -
I prefer to call it Faceplant....but that's just me. Never have used it.
