Visit companies websites and see what their requirements are before applying or call them.Following too closely might be similar to a reckless charge and reckless I believe is the worst violation to have in this industry.

I applied to Roehl and Schneider on Saturday, Averit and Millis today.
Schneider called me back, and declined me. Told me to wait for the charge to drop off my record in 4 years. Still waiting on the others.
I'll take a look at the companies you listed. I saw Freymiller and Navajo don't have have terminals in/near WI though.Last edited: Dec 12, 2016
Rusty Trawler Thanks this. -
They still will hire you. Home time is based on company policy, not where terminals are located.
Lots of refrigerated freight into and out of WI. -
Roehl declined me (to be fair I didn't put I had a CDL).
Applied to Prime last night, they contacted me back today. Told them I'l be testing for my CDL this upcoming week. They said they could get me in orientation on Jan. 4 driving reefer. I mentioned my driving record just to make sure they didn't miss it and they said as long as I paid off the fine, it was fine. -
This is not 100% true across all of trucking. For sure there is one thing you can count on though. For every serious at fault accident you are in your employment options in this industry get smaller.Toomanybikes and ChaoSS Thank this.

I work for Averitt. You are fired for any accident with following too closely or rear-end with you behind the wheel.

Schneider is so strict that LEGALLY backing on a street to make a turn instead of running over a curb is unsafe and worthy of losing your job. I was a mover (I had to fit those trailers in residential neighborhoods, and spent a lot of time backing on streets, then graduated to running brick for a landscaping company, where it was ALL backing on residential streets) when I laughed at some guy telling me that story of why he was fired for having to back to make a turn that he undershot into a terminal.)
Your best chances are probably with all the companies that train and rely on high turnovers. Just go solo, driving team was hell to me.Toomanybikes Thanks this. -
I may be wrong, but I don't think it is legal to back onto a road right of way in any vehicle. I think there may be an exception in a truck if you have a spotter.

Any offers yet?
