It's called profiling... And by law they're not allowed to do that anymore they just passed a law about that a year or so back but it goes state to state. I cannot say for sure about any other state but in Michigan they're not allowed to profile they cannot stop you and frisk you just because the way you wear your clothes how your speaking if your pants are hanging off your ### or you're using Ebonics. But come on man this here where I am at in Good Ol Detroit Michigan shoot the cops do pretty much whatever they want and worry about any repercussions later so as far as profiling and/or search and seizure without a reason it doesn't need to come back because believe you me it's never left it still goes on it just depends on what part of town you're in. But I can also testify to this again not sure about any other cities but in Detroit you get stopped by the cops for any reason most of them now not all of them but most of them You slip them a couple of promissory notes with pictures of the Jackson twins on them most of the cops will turn their head now that's the America that I now know at least in Detroit

i don't think they can search without cause unless it's a secure facility but yeah they can stop you to check your papers and equipment. ask for their badge number if you want to push your luck. i think there should be a place to post their info for unreasonable treatment if there isn't one already

The same way that you do. One leg at a time. But after I put them on, I make hit records.

YESSSS!!! Especially if you're truck looks questionable to them or if they want pull a roadside level 3 inspection!

    Speaking from a number expiences!!!

Note: They cannot inspect the inside of your truck unless they have probable cause with a search warrant in hand or "YOU" give them the authority to do so!

Last Note: Always, Always be courteous and be professional with the officer. Never, never, never get angry and outrage with officer! When do that 90% - 99% of the time he will either let.you off the hook or write the violation up as a simple fine with no points deducted from you CDL and/or CSA score!

TIP: Don't take advice from some of these angry folks on this thread. Their advice will get you either you & truck taken out of service, level 1 inspection, a ticket with a automatic court appearance, and/or arrested! BE SMART!! Don't create more problems for yourself!!!!

He asked if I was refusing to cooperate, and I told him that unless I was being detained I wanted to go on my way. Asked if I was being detained and he said no, so I asked if I was free to go and he said no, so I reiterated that I didn't have to speak to him or cooperate and that I refused to give him my name, identification or immigration status. And he said wait here while I get my supervisor. Supervisor told me to pull off to the side. I told him to #### himself. He asked if I was refusing to cooperate and I responded by asking to go through his wallet and search his personal vehicle without cause. He responded by saying but sir I do have cause. And I responded by asking what his cause was, to which he replied that his cause was my refusal to let him search myself, my vehicle or inspect my documents. I responded by asking what his probable cause was for stopping me and initiating an investigation in the first place. He responded that he didn't suspect me of anything prior to my refusal to consent. So I reminded him that anything he found or presumed upon me based on an unlawful interaction would be fruit of the poison vine and that legally I didn't have to submit myself to his ########.

Then I informed him that the Supreme Court has several times over rules against immigration checkpoints and DUI checkpoints and redlight cameras and all the other ######## that they do, and continue to do. So you're saying I'm violating your rights, he says. That's correct, I say. And with the smuggest #### eating grin he says "only US Citizens are entitled to 4th Amendment protections under the law sir".

I reminded him, or based on his stupidity in all likelihood was informing him for the first time, that the constitution is the law of the land for all people and that the so called bill of rights is actually more like a list of #### that government agents can't do, not a list of #### we can do.

Then I told him "I'm leaving now if I'm not under arrest" and he said you're free to go.

Yeah sometimes you just gotta #### your pants and dive in and swim. I've been there a number of times. But I don't like that the fact that officers of the law feel they're entitled II just pick and choose and interrogate an individual wherever and whenever I mean don't get me wrong police departments across this country have had a very very rough year this past year and with a lot of unnecessary bloodshed and my heart truly goes out to them and their families I myself do not have any issues with the law my oldest son plans on being a police officer and I support him 100% even though when I was younger I was on the opposite side of the fence from where he stands but in closing I do question even though police officers have a very tough job with #### pay and not knowing when you walk out your door if that's going to be the last time. Now I know death is just around the corner for a lot of people hell truck drivers sometimes I'm sure have questions if they're going to make it home depending on the weather situations but to the point again the police agencies Nationwide have taken an awful hit this year with unnecessary violence and vengeance towards the police officers but my question is if we all look back how much of that bloodshed did they bring on themselves would be years and years and years of unnecessary brutality just because you walk around with a gun on your hip and a badge on your chest that States that you can use that gun whenever and wherever if you feel you need to do so does not give you free reign to be an ####### but a lot of these officers have chosen to go down that road of abusing their power of authority and my heart does go out to each and every family that has been affected this past year but they too have to look in the mirror and assume their portion of responsibility
