I am going to start driving soon, and we live in north georgia so easy to get OTR jobs. Wondering does anyone hire in middle florida? Kids will be out of school in a couple years, and we want to move back down to florida, but wonder if any companys hire south of I-10?

If you want check out a company called Walpole Inc. They have a yard in Tampa, Palm Beach, Birmingham and they are based out of Okeechobee. I worked for them when I lived in Brandon, Fl. There is also Publix Foods, If you want to work and live new the Port of Tampa then I would suggest going toward the port and watch the trucks and get a list of companies as they drive by. There a bunch down there most will train you on tanker, hoppers ect. it beats the big companies like Swift, Warner ect. I will get some more names for and post them. Good luck

There are hardly any trucking jobs in Fla. The economy is bad for truckers in the sunshine state right now.

call them or e-mail. the problem is this State is dried up. When they get you out you might need to stay out for awhile.

Most companies don't like paying you and the fuel to deadhead out for lack of freight in Florida
