Realistically, there should not be an age limit, but rather tests for those after 70 should be more comprehensive and maybe done twice a year and later maybe once a quarter. Physical stamina is one thing, but let's not forget about Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, general dementia, and other illnesses correlated with age. And I read somewhere that US trucker life expectancy is 61.
P.S.
"Ferro referenced the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as the source of the statistic, as did Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood in his Sept. 2 Fast Lane blog: "According to the (CDC), the average life expectancy for a commercial truck driver is 61 years."
I thought life expect was 56 years but oh well. Who is counting.
If you make it to 70 social security will more than make up for your waiting that long to file. Several thousand a month Im told. Eh, I believe it when I see it.
We got a relative who is pushing 90 and from the lack of interest of a cure her doctors are essentially making palliative comforts to ease her problems as she staggers into the grave. She will outlive us all.
You can keep the million dollars, I value my mind more than anything that might take it away. We have lost too many to Alzheimer and other issues that really reduces them to something lesser than a simple infant before killing them by destroying the brain center that regulates the heart and breathing. There is no dignity in that.
You newbies at 20 today think you live forever. And you will. But it is written your eyes shall quit working and your teeth will be worn down and your very bones shall cry for rest at night where there is none.
But until then live. And love well. Enjoy thy days.
