    Firstly, I don't think you're a b-.

Different strokes is all. When you were with your uncle, you were beholden to hard appt times. Nothing wrong with stopping to smell the 'roses' if you have time.

OP mentioned a 4 days on 3 off schedule and making the same money he'd be making staying out weeks at a time. If you think that's gonna happen while constantly stopping to pick your butt at the truck stop, then I have ocean front property for sale in Nebraska.

He's gonna have to run his ### off. On duty 13+ hours a day, and up and rolling as soon as his e-log strikes 10. That's the truth.

I guess, we ran from Monday to Saturday about 11:00 am or sometimes Tuesday until Saturday until 11:00 am. The same load coming back but different going to California. It's hard to find but doable with right company , I really wish it would have worked out with me and my uncle because it was a good run for Teaming.

A lot of times running as hard as possible isn't just about getting to the shipper or receiver. It's about stopping the clock so you can get next leg going asap.

There's a certain shipper I go to that never has a load ready when I arrive. I know I'm taking my ten there. So why do I drive like a bat out of hell to get there?
Because I want to get back home as soon as possible.

Sure, I could stop at the Flying J and have a sub and even hit the shops on the way. Loads not ready anyway, right?

But that hour or two dickin' around pushes me 1-2 hours further back from my return time. No one is going to be affected more than me and my family. I start my trips out with getting home as fast as safely possible.

Being with three trying to Team , I agree. The first one was my best friend and we did great, we would just not talk to each other when we were upset but still ate together etc. Her husband didn't like her being gone so much so she went home and now works at Shipping &Receiving, all she does is spray the drivers feet at check in and the rest of the time sits looking on her phone or watching TV.

I had my wife with me as a team driver. She went to trucking school and learned, got the CDL from Arkansas with the endorsements. My problem is that of a Trainer. Make her into a good team driver so we can do our mission of rescuing loads for FFE that year.

Women started to get into trucking back in the 80's my class for trucking school had 4. All of them graduated. I spotted two of them doing work on 83 now and then. One was actually a doubles. I don't do doubles.

Women are still relatively uncommon in trucking. But with the coming of the Automatic, the usual problem of teaching them how to shift and manage power goes away. Now they push a button, let the clutch out and go.

Getting a wife to listen to you and at times obey instantly when you bark at wife in very bad situations or listening to wife when she detects something going really bad fast or worries about something that might be nothing at all.

Ive teamed before with trainers. No issues there. There is no issues. Otherrwise the team situation would not continue. I am careful who I pick to go behind the wheel with me in the bunk. It's not easy signing your future into the hands of a relative stranger. I generally do not run with women as a team, becuase there will be issues that come up between a man and a women. Wife is not a issue because you two understand one another.

If you really want to see something cute, go into a grocery distribution where there is a great deal of manual labor moving food. Watch pretty woman sit on a pile of pallets telling stories with 10 lonely drivers taking turns unloading HER trailer. She is gone down the road empty in about a hour. =)
