Anyone drive for this company?
They take on O/O and also LP.
Anyone who is with them currently or has been with them, please feel free to share your experiences.
I'm considering going with them. I have heard some good things from one driver, hoping to hear more.

For example, Landstar pays 65% and my company pays 72%. Well one day we both pulled the same load for the same weight and to the same customer yet the Landstar driver earned $800 more on the load. Now that doesn't mean they will be paid more on every load. Also, if a company is charging up front for their trailer then you might as well drop that % pay down about 5-10% of what they tell you are absorbing that cost of maintaining it.
If you want to know if those drivers are being honest, have them prove their numbers on paper. It's one thing to gross $5000-6000k but after all is said and done, only the bottom line means the most. Grossing $5000 at a $1.55 rate with a trailer fee and a lot more miles driven compared to grossing $4-4500at a $1.93 as I do can be a big difference in how hard you work for your $$. But since I haven't heard nor seen much if any bad info about them Insay give it a shot. I guess you plan on using Quality Co for a truck which in itself is a rip off, might as well see if you can lease or buy your own trailer and take it to them too.BoyWander Thanks this. -
Yeah I tried the financing thing, didn't get far, best deal I can find is 30% down with 15% interest, gonna have to lease.
The company emailed back with a picture of payroll for last week, some of their O/Os grossed over $6k, one over 7k. A few over $5k, some around 4k. People take home time too which reduces pay.
They offer a 2016 Cascadia with a couple miles on it, $2300/mo for 3 years, FMV at the end...not sure if it's a walk away, if I have to walk away after a year, not sure if I can just do that. Trailer rental $500/mo., insurance $220/week probably for cargo and liability, I'm sure physical damage and non-trucking would be extra.
I don't think I'd have the freedom to find my own loads.
If I didn't have to pay for trailer rental or their insurance, based on $5,000 gross, that's 6.7%. On $4,000 gross, that's 8.3%. So I guess if I didn't have to pay for those things, someone would have to offer 80% of gross. The bad thing about the trailer and insurance though is that if I didn't run that week, I'd still have to pay the $335.
The email said something about doing a lot of Amazon and mail runs.
Not sure if that's all broker stuff or if they have any direct shippers, but even direct shippers doesn't necessarily mean they pay well.
What do you get out of that 72%?Bsmoove2U Thanks this. -
I get 72% of what the load pays but as with all % pay it could be 72% of a load brokered by another company that my company takes and they don't give you 72% of the original load, it's 72% of what they got off the load. For example a broker has a load paying 1000 but Werner get its then can't haul it for some reason so they will broker it to another company for let's say 800, then take company will give me 72% of that 800. That's the down side to trucking. You got to make sure they don't take a bunch of brokered JB hunt freight or similar companies.[lBoyWander Thanks this. -
I guess 80% of unknown over 72% of unknown would be better...but Schneider you can choose loads, sure, but only from their pool. Would I be able to get on DAT and call up a broker and get a load with Schneider? Probably not....
I assumed that a 2016 truck with 100,000 miles or less would still be covered under the manufacturer warranty. I think most of them are 4yr / 400,000 miles warranty. -
I heard of another company called Voyager Nation Inc that claims similar numbers.
But ask Tri State do they have their own mechanics and if they will honor any warranty from a truck brought from outside. Also check to see if you have a breakdown, will they be willing to front the $ and deduct from your settlements also.BoyWander Thanks this. -
I spoke to the owner through email on Saturday evening. I happened to ask a question through the website form, about the price of truck leasing, and he replied back within 20 minutes. On a Saturday evening. I found that impressive.
I will find out about warranty and mechanics. I'm not worried about being fronted money. LP is nothing down, and I have money in the bank. The truck needs to still have the manufacturer warranty though, or it will probably be a no deal for me.
Voyager Nation wants to pay you 13% less if you don't bring your own trailer. That's a little bit nuts. 3% at most is fair. -
