I don't thing schneider will the lower the price of the glider. I have tried.
Also, you can ask them for major work done. The one I was interested in had some big work done to it.

It's a glider. Even Schneider isn't stupid enough to put an egr in a glider.

Truck is going to Cat in Toronto. Ecm dump to check mileage, 480k, oil sample, blow by test, and general mechanical check.

    Cat sdp Thanks this.

I would go with the glider. It sucks you can't test drive it and the price seems a little high. Upside is the truck is simple and anyone will be more than happy to work on it. Parts at every exit. You can also pretty much guarantee you will save yourself 10 grand a year in fuel. Acert wasn't one of Cats finest engineering moments. I drove a Schneider glider for 4 months before they forced me into a cascadia and still it's by far it my favorite truck. I certainly understand your delima though. In all honesty it wouldn't surprise me if maintenance costs saved you another 10 grand a year over the acert cat as well. The only reason sni is getting rid of them is for perceived fuel savings and the whole beyond compliance safety thing. The fact you can't test drive it makes the decision harder than it needs to be. Smh. Crap shoot I guess. If a million plus mile truck is what your looking for I would bet on the glider though. Just my 2 cents.

I bought a Schnieder glider in June this year. It had 429k miles and was found in Columbus, the third place I looked. I wasn't able to leave the yard but I drove a few and they all felt the same. They don't have sales people, you just talk to the shop manager and they send you out to the lotto browse as you wish. Basically I looked at the condition of the engine and components because it varied greatly, some were really rusty. Also made sure the interior wasn't torn to hell thinking the driver that took care of a company truck might've been a little more gentle with it. Also, white was a must have, no pumpkin orange which sucked because it limited my choices.
I've been fortunate, and the truck has been great. It's a 58" mid roof so a little small but it's super light and I never have to worry about being over gross. I changed the oil and had a sample done and it looked great, no excessive wear metals or anything. After changing the shocks, 3 axle alignment and tranny fluid change (diff's were clean), it's run perfect and got decent mileage. Only had to replace an alternator that was going out and that was $450 and 30 minutes downtime. So, I'd def do it again. By the way, I got mine for $45k

So... talked to the T600 guy wednesday afternoon he was going with his brother to take t600 to cat. Got to the yard where it was parked and his boss asked what he was doing, said he had truck sold just going for engine test, boss said how much, he said 29500 boss said I'll take it. And he f#$&ING sold it to him.... I hate people... lol. So back to the glider. Negotiations are ongoing. Monday will be the day .
