Hello, there Wener came to my truck driving school today with his show truck and was able to talk to a driver with over 30 years in trucking and like what he was telling me about Werner. One of the things that I like the most is that Werner is very good at safety that they are number 1 in that from what I was told What do you think about Werner would this be a good company to work for out of truck driving school?
Is Werner a good place to work for?

Does Werner require another physical or will they accept you cdl school physical? If you're a little over weight, I'd pass on Werner if they require another physical. I'm not knocking the company, just the physical requirements.
-
They will make me have to do another physical to get a new medical card and I would be ok with that.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Any company CAN be good depending on your outlook and attitude.
TruckDrivingtn, x1Heavy, MrIT and 4 others Thank this. -
Ok, they also do hair follicle drug test.

Hmmmmm.....
What paperwork did they show you? Pay scale, cost of insurance, vacation policy, employee handbook, actual paycheck cut/miles driven to current drivers, inside of a truck you will ACTUALLY drive, new driver recommendations, meet trainers, meet terminal mangers, meet HR dude, greet office staff, etc.
Any recruiter can blow smoke.
Make a list.... Check it twice. Good luck!
Personally for me Werner was a "NO."Rusty Trawler Thanks this. -
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahax1Heavy and Rusty Trawler Thank this.

I'd pick a company with APU and other driver amenities. Remember there are state and company and city ordinances against truck idling.
x1Heavy, Ssand Man, Rusty Trawler and 1 other person Thank this. -
Werner has APU's and inverters now right? Most of the company trucks I've seen lately have tripacs.
I started with Werner, essentially I was running as a team by day 4. But they didn't have me running night shift until about 2.5 weeks in.
Keep in mind, this was a bit over a decade ago lol.BlackThought and Chinatown Thank this. -
That's good information!
