There was a very beautiful and long sunset earlier today. This picture was taken at 12:40 pm. It was lunch time and for this load it was crunch time...

I really had to take this pic, because as u can see the sun was peeking through with massive blizzards happening on both sides... It looked like the sky was creating an avalancheLepton1 Thanks this.

I had to sit in the driver seat and bump the fuel for about 3 hours before I left Tok. I was loosing air pressure and I found a nice way to keep my engine warm or relatively warm at least. I parked next to some other trucks first of all just so we could share heat and make kind of a hot spot as we were parked on top of the ice lawn... That's kind of obvious and I guess this is too, but I turned my heat up and closed the air vents, so it would reflect and feed back into the engineDave_in_AZ, Lepton1 and 77fib77 Thank this.

If ur making this trip u will need to plan on arriving in Tok around 9am with more time left to drive, so u can get some place warmer... Tok is where u will have to buy ur Alaska plate and they open at 8 or 9. If u get there later in the day u will be forced in a stay over night situationDave_in_AZ, fargonaz, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this.

Well I guess that's all from me on this excursion. I was able to make the trip from Tok to Anchorage before the storm destroyed the roads too much. There was a beautiful scenery throughout the trip especially the final leg into anchorage. I enjoyed it and with any luck I can get a load back... Ehhh I'm tired and whatnot goodbye and safe travels... It feels like summertime here at 20 degreesDave_in_AZ, Lone Ranger 13, alpo718 and 15 others Thank this.

I guess we can add up the fuel costs etc to get there. Getting back would be interesting for you as we are fixing to get hammered in a day or two by very cold windchills in the lower 48.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Glad you made it safely-good job!dca, Getsinyourblood and Lepton1 Thank this.

I see you made it . I got here Thursday night and off loaded yesterday. I reloaded and doing my reset right now. If you are still in Anchorage let me know and I might venture out and meet up. Not sure what the roads are like since it was raining earlier.
russellkanning and fargonaz Thank this.
