Midwest Freezing rain forecasted Friday

I'm getting ready to load here at Dayton oh and nws just issued a freezing rain advisory here .

 

Came through freezing rain this morning on 35 into Joplin, MO.
Drove 45, and let the Megas pass me by.

 

I just stopped for fuel at Leroy ill and a melton driver told me the ice starts just west of here .

 

Headed to Upper Iowa in the morning.

I wouldn't want to be going to northern iowa tonight or tomorrow ...by the time I could fuel and shower the freezing drizzle had arrived here .
I'll just camp here tonight.

 

Any passing by Sioux City IA, give a note how it is tomorrow.

 

Ice all over I-70 in Missouri.

 

One of my pals is near warrenton and 70 is at a dead stop there ....22 degrees and raining at Leroy .

 

One of those good times to get a motel six and park her until Sunday noonish.

 

Did that for an entire week while doing the Perryton run in the Panhandle when all the roads iced up here after Thanksgiving. No additional drivers to shuttle empty tanks up, so it was ten hours from Clovis, load the tanker, head to Perryton Best Western. And then head back ten hours to Clovis, head home for another ten, then rinse repeat to make sure the silos didn't overflow.
By the end of the week, the temps finally began to push fifty, additional long-haulers were showing up to get loaded at the dairy, and the ice was going bye-bye.

What a week!!
