KWs and Petes can come in 13s. Newer paccar engine seems hit or miss, mostly positive reviews from new paccar owners but it seems you either get a good one or not like any other engine.cdgoza Thanks this.

Still have a little ways to go before I jump in regardless. Trying to get as much information as possible right now.

I've been thinking about a question relating to multiple drivers. I know they have team choice driving. Not interested. My question is can I become a choice driver and I guess the best way too explain it would be to share or allow another driver to drive my truck? My idea for example would be either a week on or a week off kind of thing. Ok, forget it. The guy who got me into driving is thinking of retiring from his pension job. He can still work and claim his pension but only wants to work a limited amount of time a month. Maybe a week to a week and a half. Been driving for 27 years. Can't leave cold turkey. My question is can I work with him as a choice driver in my truck? I can dispatch him and pay him and so on. It's more so a question on would it be allowed?

I haven't et one yet but I've heard the term fleet owner thrown around the yards, apparently it's allowed to have someone else drive your truck as long as they pass the Schneider entrance requirementsWaggledaddy Thanks this.

here's another idea / bonus......as an LLC, my vice president and I go to Las Vegas every year and write it off as a "Team Building" expense......LOL.......I got a really good CPA who has no problem with it at all. Fun times....CaptainDaveG, Waggledaddy, mxpx148 and 2 others Thank this.

It can work that way but if you drive team putting let's say 5000 miles on the truck they will go up on your truck note by 50 percent but you will pay off your truck early

Not team. Solo. Sharing a truck. Basically when I'm off he's running and vice versa. I could run hard and burn through a 70 without worrying about shutting down for a reset and the truck would still run. I've even thought it to am extent of because of loads not getting home but meeting somewhere to switch. Even though Memphis isn't too hard to get back to from what I hear. Just an idea. He doesn't want to work full time. I still figure there would be weeks I'd have to recap if he didn't want to work. Or just take time off anyway. Just a way I thought a truck could profit a little more. In figuring though, straight burning through hours and keeping the truck running during those times could pay close to the truck payment monthly itself. Even at half it would be worth it.

SFI, unless it's changed will only let a driver who isn't on the lease drive the truck as a team operation.

Thanks. I figured it were the case. Because I knew there was a load board difference for team and solo and this situation would be waaaaay to difficult to figure out for them. "Wait, so who's driving when the other guy sleeps and your at home?" The hitchhiker....
