That $1.60 a mile should be your cut. Like other drivers have said, this industry has turned into garbage overall. Stay home and enjoy life.

All good advice. Don't want to stay home. Enjoy the driving life even with the ups and down. I agree its about the revenue not the miles. Landstar is out because of the 65%. Mileage is out because I enjoy a challenge of finding my own work. Buying a trailer and going own authority/DAC board an option but believe in baby steps first therefore lease on for a while. Paying cash would just get me into an old beater with major lost time due to repairs, Plus I want the comfort of new. Thanks for all the tips! You guys are sincerely appreciated. Comments please on a new Lonestar/Cummins because of the battery APU system. Realize those buggers are heavy..Second choice Volvo 780/ishift. Thoughts?

A lot of them old beaters as you say are more reliable then these new trucks with emissions crap that's constantly breaking down and aren't nothing but junk give me a truck from the late 90s any day of the week.

Don't get the LoneStar, I drove one and yes they are heavy, 19,500, there was also problems with the heater side of the EPU. My company has the Volvo 770 and the 780 with I-shift, love it.

I drive one of our 770's and they do not have a work station. Now we have some 780's and I believe that those have the workstation.

Do you mind telling me who you are with? Never have figured out how you pm on this thing, and not sure if I even have enough post. If you would rather not, I understand.

Running refer you are never going to run all you max hours. There's going to be a lot of sitting and waiting. All depends on the company and their customers of course.
