    Rookies?

    You think rookies do this?

I had a truck involved with an accident a while ago, my driver has some idiot pull out in front of him without any indication the guy was turning. My driver hit the guy at an angle, ripped into the left fuel tank and took out the front axle - very hard hit. The guy has/had 25 years behind the wheel, the insurance investigator said he had a few speeding tickets but he now had a few tickets for this brainless mood. He told the cop that he didn't see the truck, nor the school bus that was going in the other direction that he also tried to take out.

KillingTime and Kyle G. Thank this.

Yes rookies do this also. I figure a seasoned driver should already know better hence the reference to rookies only.
I hope that your driver and the other person involved were not injured.

I know there are rookies that do this, most are not confident enough and hesitate which I think why the more experienced drivers are the ones who do this more often than not.

Thanks for the positive hope (lost for words this morning), everyone came out alright. Both trucks were totaled, his was damage mine was caused by the cost of fixing it. So I took the check from the insurance, paid off the balance and ended up buying it back from the insurance. Fixed it up which did cost a few bucks and put it back on the road for local work then sold it after a year.

    Wargames Thanks this.

They are four wheelers. They've just been given a license to drive a big truck.

The new breed, younger drivers ME FIRST attotude is contagious to some after a while. I belive some of the older drivers just get tired of being on the recieving end and say I will becoma a selfish ahole also. I am in no way condoning this because the aholes pull out in front of me all the time. Especially in a parking lot or rest area. They just have to be first.

I don't like to pull out in front of any 40 ton truck, regardless of what I am driving....seems like a less than smart thing to do.

I had a car pull out in front of me from a stop sign, on my first load with a tanker. I didn't have time to hit the brakes, so I steered into the left lane, which was where he was heading, so I steered back into the right lane to avoid hitting him. There was no other traffic....just the two of us......you don't see that kind of stupid every day.
