Once again put your freaking CB on and a lot of this could've been prevented along with all these pile ups happening and I won't even get into elogs and governored trucks running in packs but yet they say it's for safety which is crap.Rip driver!!

Driver. Some how I don't think roads were good enough where all the trucks were running at their top speed, and therefore all clustered, leading into this area. And I seriously doubt any trucks who crashed here were racing to a safe place to park before their clock ran out. But your opposition to eLogs and 65 MPH trucks is noted.

First of all, obviously 65 was entirely too fast for that situation, so that's beside the point.

Come on, people. Two fellow drivers here died. Let not their deaths be in vain. SLOW DOWN before you get to a bridge while driving in conditions like this.

That one simple thing is basically all this boils down to.

Im very familiar with baltimore. It's my home ground.

It's a shame that we have to yell ice until blue in the face for days before it happens there (And it happens) ergo, a gas tanker buys it (Always a gas tanker becuase we are major import facility for fuel, oil and gas as well as even spirits from scotland for whiskey etc.)

The People are like a herd in that area and weather does not bother them, it is almost like they have to be hit on the head in a pile up like that to get better rest of winter. It's a waste.

Go slow on that ice. If you know you are going into where ice is.. don't be with the herds.

Some of you talk about governors and elogs etc. ALL of that is valid but you will not see any Government agency say that should not happen. It's happening and we now have robot vehicles running around? Ha. Stay home if you can. Camp out and wait for the sun if you cannot.

Columbus got ugly last night. It was quick too. One minute I was on fine roads just a little bit wet and a few seconds later it was ice and I had to slow down fast. Kept her straight luckily and got stopped, but more than a few cars didn't in those first 10-15 minutes. After that it was fairly obvious how bad the roads were. But ya, don't ever trust the local road crews to be on top of stuff. Treatment didn't seem to matter a #### last night.

That stretch is well known around these parts as being elevated for about 5 miles between the Fort McHenry tunnel and the Beltway.

Bridges and overpass freeze FIRST EVERY TIME.

Every pileup I saw today, and it was close to a dozen that I personally laid eyes on, happened on a bridge.

    MACK-E6-

Maryland Dropped the Ball on this 1.....I don't know if this stretch of 95 is state or City -But I know it well-

We don't let This happen in the City here- Any Glazing or wet in Sub32 temp is salted- No Matter the Day or time-

Yeah I Get it- Its 5am on a Saturday Morning-Who wants to be out Saltin' or examining road surfaces-

This Could have been avoided-And Frankly-In recent years Im Getting sick n tired of seeing these 40-100 vehicle catastrophies.......

Something Needs to Be Done!! Is it Carriers Demanding Truck Movement so Harshly in all weather?

I don't Know- But This is Getting Bad-

im in Chicago on my way to Fairless Hills,Pa and Frankly- Im Not sure Im Leaving Till I See Sun and Dry Roads All the Way across to the East- Don't Care if its Tuesday- I Don't Suckle Up to "What others want" My safety comes first before anything- AND IT SHOULD BE THE SAME FOR THE MOTORING PUBLIC

Frickin America Done Nothing But Got itself in a Big Hurry and This is just 1 small example on what happens.......

That stretch of 95 is within city limits, now that you mention it.

I'm thinking the state does it.

On a related note, since it's something else you brought up, what one carrier won't do because of weather risks, another one certainly will.
