Sorry, disagree. The left lane is for passing. Middle lane is fair game. Wanna pass me? Have at it- left lane is wide open.
Sure, I do my best to stay in the right lane, but with the constant merging in the city (I'm local in Philadelphia) it truly isn't practical.
As far as your fuel island gripe, well, I wouldn't know anything about that. We have a fueling station on the premises of our plant.

Ive always been a fan of, (and harassed for) the position of, if you can do the limit, any lane ya feel like. The posted limit is all you can ask for outside of the right lane. I do try to stay right, but when merge traffic is hevey? I'll be wherever i feel like.Peelsession and Dumdriver Thank this.

On a 3 lane highway we're perfectly legal to be in the right 2 lanes. If the middle lane is what will keep us rolling so be it.street beater Thanks this.

Yup, and no left lane law in mn. So have at the hammer ifin ya feel the need... corse you may run into my icc if my left lane exit is within 2 miles.... dont care if ya wanna speed, but last i checked (and i have) there is no such law that allows speeding to pass in a multi lane situation....

How much time are you really losing by someone running 60-65 in the middle lane? 5 mph for 20 miles? Do the math it's not that bad. Having said that I try to keep my 64 mph self in the right lane.
I think sometimes drivers get to worked up over violations of "road etiquette" again, having said that, I'm one of the most curtious drivers out there. But no need to raise the blood pressure because swift is in the middle lanestreet beater Thanks this. -
Depends on the state you're in. Calif. you never want to be in the left lane unless told to do so. I was driving a larger than normal gasoline tanker the the middle lane was just so much safer than the right. You do have to watch traffic coming up on you but most understand why I was there. You have to watch the vehicles merge on the right but you shouldn't see any panic situation. I kept my speed limit 5mph about the posted speed and watched like crazy but Always felt safer.
Lepton1 and bottomdumpin Thank this. -
The OP is in Georgia. Yeah, we all know about the merge failure rate in Atlanta.
