Now that I’m home with a non OTR job I ride my motorcycle back and forth to work. Being pushed around by traffic on a motorcycle is no fun. I sometime run US-22 for about 5 miles that runs through the heart of the Lehigh Valley here in PA. Last Thursday on the way to work at around 1430 in the afternoon I had a large FedEx truck not yield on the on-ramp and pushed me between him and a large SUV, we ran 3 wide on two lane for a few seconds. The one thing that pushes my buttons after being a “professional” driver is a CDL driver that drivers like a jerk. I memorized the truck and trailer numberd, along with the drivers face with the idea that I was going to call the local FedEx office when I made it to work. He the driver knew I was there, I saw him looking at me, and hesitate for ½ a second before pushing me out of the way. Low and behold guess who shows up at my dock at 1700? We have it printed on all BOL’s that LTL receiving hours are from 0800 to 1500 hours, any thing out side those hours are up to the receiving warehouse manager. He didn’t know it was me he had pushed out of his way, I wear a jacket, full-face helmet with a tinted face shield. I asked him about pushing the motorcycle out of his way, he stated there was room for the motorcycle run on dotted white line for a few seconds. I looked right at him and told him he pushed me around, that was me on the motorcycle. I told him to bring the load back on time tomorrow, I would not be able to find the time to unload him today. He was very angry and asked to speak to the supervisor, I told him that was me. I'm top dog on 2nd shift, my boss, the warehouse manager, would be back tomorrow at 0700 to 1500. Sometimes it’s nice to get even.

I called my boss at 0700 the next morning and told him what happened, he said that is your call the hours are clearly printed on all the BOL’s. Never hear anything more about it.

FedEx drivers are not know for their courtesy or driving smart. You will often see them in the ditch, especially on snowy roads, because they don't slow down for anything. I can't count the number of times over this past winter where my hubby told me about seeing a FedEx truck in the ditch after passing a bunch of trucks that were driving responsibly so they could make it to a truck stop and park to wait out the storm.

Good job on the payback! You never know who you will see at a delivery or pick up place that you encounter on the road.

Kudos for you, I have been cut off by them in the past in a big truck. I don't know what it is with them and UPS. It seems they have thrown out road courtesy and driver professionalism out the window.

hahaha, thats awesome, im not a fan of the fedx driver, about a month ago, running up 78 in pa, a fedx driver come hauling up the hammer lane, gets beside me, and decides he dont wana go ay faster, then my whoppin 66mph, a few miles pass, still beside me, a slow moving car, i mean slow, i had to take it dow to 40 in a 65zone, well, i put my blinker on to merg left, a trucker lets me in, i get in, now beind this fedx driver who is now doin 54 in a 65, then down to 50, the slow moving car picks speed up to 50ish, not fast enough to pass the fedx, the driver behind me asks me what the hell im doing, i tell him that its fedx not me, and i inform that driver that there are no other vehicales in front of him, and that there is a car in the right lane, he told me he was going to go push the car outa the way. well, 10 mins later he has no luck pushing the car. and im still stuck behind the fedx, now up to 55 with the car in the right lane.
other truck gets behind me again... 30 mins later still same thing. and me and the other guy have had it buy now.... i get on the radio and say " (My company name) you better check your mirriors, you got a bear on your rear door " guy behind me says ( yeah, he got infront of me, his lights are on, looks like he wants you to pull over " then fedx gets on and says " nah ( my company name ) im pretty sure he wants me for drivin in the left lane and not passing " i said your right, you shold get over " he does. we pass, other driver gets beside me, fedx gets on " where the F is this cop at?? " i say, " oo, i guess he took the exit back there " then he got tiked off, and tried coming up on us again. but me and the othr driver drove side by side till we parted ways, only allowing enough room for cars to squeez between my front bumper, and his rear, leavng no room for fedx to pass through..... job well done to us.. :biggrin_255:

Well, their local straight truck drivers are typically idiots,so, if those same drivers "graduate" to the big truck, they most likely take their crappy habits and attitudes with them.
