You really have to watch how these Mfg's rate their trailers. There is no set standard. So what one calls a 40 ton the other will call a 45 ton. Real easy to overload if you don't know how they rated it.
Your 55 ton specs

Yeah i know.
I was thinking about sending him a hat with the Etyner logo on it, but that would just be plain mean.
So instead, im gonna get him a new hat with the Talbert trailers logo.....except its gonna say...."Talbent"......
Im ribbing ya JD.......

Lol that's too funny!johndeere4020 and snowman_w900 Thank this. -
I don't think a solid business plan is exceeding the rating of a trailer routinely. As @Rontonio said heavy haul trailers are heavy because they need to be. I know one of our local crane companies quit buying XL's because the were breaking at the rear just like he said.
As far as scaling 55 ton that's a blanket statement that's not necessarily true, with the right setup (which I will have at some point) I could scale 55 ton on the deck in Ohio and most of the states that touch it. I would have to research a few more to check for sure.MJ1657 Thanks this. -
They are, they might be fine pulling lighter loads from the ports or factories but they will not stand up there any kind of abuse which is what we do no matter how hard we try not to. You put close to the rated capacity of any trailer on the deck and head down the road it's working that trailer. I've seen first hand what will happen to an Etnyre, right now I'm pulling a ten year old Talbert that's been worked hard and it's still in good shape.MJ1657, Oxbow and snowman_w900 Thank this.

Roger that.
Im coming up 35 from Chillicothe. My load got changed, so ill be loading in Middletown then headed to plain city. Gonna be another late late night for me.MJ1657 and johndeere4020 Thank this. -
Not saying you should overload the trailer on a regular basis, Just sometimes it happens. You load it, scale it and it's heavier. Many people have no matter what trailer you have.
I like having a 55ton to do 45 ton work. Just the extra cushion of carrying capacity.
I think I mention a lighter trailer is better when it comes to keeping your gross weight down.
Has anyone broken a trailer with a load under the weight rating of the trailer??
Also, please explain what is wrong with Etnyre and was the trailer overloaded or not?? I'd like to know what happens if using the trailers within it's weight rating.noluck Thanks this.
