10 years and done

Due to advice from my doctor, I'll be climbing out of the truck for good at the end of the year. It's been heading downhill for a few years, and I guess it caught up with me.

I'm still digesting it. Not quite sure what to do with myself. I mean, I have work all lined up. It's just such a huge change.

I've had good times out here with Mr. E. I put both girls through college in cash. I've seen every state in the lower 48 except Maine. And every animal except a moose - which is the only one I was really hoping to see, lol. I've driven in rain, hail, hurricanes, tornados and blizzards. And parked in the ice. I've barbecued steaks off the catwalk and made chicken and dumplings in a crock pot. I've crossed from LA to Massachusetts in 2 days of hard driving. I've been to a 5 star restaurant for our anniversary in boots and Carhartt. I've melted brakes with a propane torch in -40 and crossed the Sonora desert in August with no A/C. I've worked hard. Not just hard, but trucker hard. I've hauled everything from penguins to plus size lingerie, and everything in between. Over 2 million miles ticket and accident free. And I'm proud of that.

Mr. E and I had always planned on retiring together. We've been under each other's feet for so long, I'll be a bit lost without him. Not how I had envisioned it at all.

I'm not even sure what I'm asking with this post. I'll miss it out here. I am just at a loose end, I guess.

Oh, you guys know me. Lol. I'll be around trying to help starving drivers feed themselves. I'd miss too many of you guys not to hang around.
