Got nailed in NM for being over on rear tandems (Jeep and Hyundai SUV on bottom, Mercedes GL 450 on top) Didn't get a ticket, officer was nice enough to let it go since the drop was only a few miles away. But it got me thinking; on the Miller this same load didn't seem to raise any heckles and, since then, I've been seeing complaints online about how the 5309 is a bit heavy in the rear (some would say too heavy).
Has anyone else here run into this? First time I've even heard this gripe.

Oh yes very common issue with that trailer. I once talked to a guy who said that he makes it a habit to just avoid all scales with his lol
tech10171968 Thanks this. -
It also depends on the state, some states allow more than 34000 lbs on tandem. Its very easy to have over 34000 on trailer.

I have one and the rear loads up very quickly. I have a rule that has helped me. 12k lbs of freight on the back half of trailer. I know that GL450 was at least 5,000 by it self
tech10171968 and Terry270 Thank this. -
Yes, this is true. Florida happens to be one of those states, and I'm guessing that's why no one here gripes about it when I cross a scale.Terry270 Thanks this.

Seems like good advice. I know that GL 450 was one heavy son-of-a-you-know-what.
