I have saved quite a bit of money by filing for my own authority. I still have to file for IRP, IFTA, UCR; and for permits for Oregon and New Mexico. The only thing I can't do is file for BOC 3. Anyone know of good and honest Process agents who won't rip me off and try to sell me things I don't require?

Again thank you in advance for all of the great advice so far...You all have been very helpful!!! :biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514:

Ron you might contact "bullhaulerswife". Recently they did all that sort of thing, and might have some one to recommend.

Wow, I only need to get the BOC-3 done. I filed my own DOT and MC permits. The application is a little tricky but I'm glad I did that part on my own. I called the Cal office of the FMCSA for some help on the questions at the end. They were very helpful. You can save a lot money by doing as much as you can yourself. The only thing we cannot do is the BOC-3 filing. As far as IFTA is concerned, Quickbooks has a way of recording the info for fuel, taxes, and mileage. My wife is a pro at Quickbooks and at excel too.

She's gonna be busy once I hit the road:yes2557:

Heh, she does quite a bit of my billing (Quickbooks and I have an agreement :biggrin_25523:)

for me and pays the bills sometimes. She doesn't know it yet but her work's cut out for her. :biggrin_2559:

If I'm not rolling the money's not coming in:biggrin_25525:

Besides, her handwriting's so much more legible, and mine well, a rooster writes clearer than me. :biggrin_25523:

Hmmm, I always heard the worse the handwriting the more intelligient the writer. My wife's handwriting is very legible.... guess that's why I haven't shared that tale with her. lol Don't want a beating.

Join OOIDA if you haven't already done so. Call them and request they do it. If you are an OOIDA member they will do it "FOR FREE".

Some agents charge more to file your BOC-3 than the OOIDA membership cost. Not only that but then you have access to a drug consortium for $100 per year. DOT requires you be a member of a drug consortium if you run under your own authority and DOT number. That is very cheap for the consortium.
