I have a friend running for PAM on a dedicated run from Lewisville to Laredo 3 times a week. His setup isn't too bad, only makes around 900/week but he is home for at 48hrs every weekend. Not too shabby for a driver with only 7 months experience.

A concerned wife here! I've been on this road with him as much as possible from miles away and it seems like Pam just keep a getting worse and worse. My husband has gotten screwed out of a day of driving because he was sent his first time out of the 2 week training (which actually ended up being almost a month! ) and they sent him by himself from NC to TX. He was early and they wouldn't even look at the load until the due date. His driver manager didn't mention this knowing he's a new driver and I guess just let him sit! By the time he got it dropped and and was off for another load he had basically lost an entire day! And they want him after a week and some being solo to grab his partner which hasn't went home yet. And that "700-900" they claimed to be giving doesn't seem in the distance at all! He's a good driver and gets the jobs done without lolli gagging it but I'm afraid they'll continue to screw up his mileage/hours which in turn effects the paycheck and us his family!
I guess what I'm asking is this normal to happen? Or does it not get better from here? Should he change companies?

Edits for above ***a month not die to him but the truck broke down and they decided to add on extra routes or whatever that lead his upgrade class to start on Friday and end that following Tuesday after he's already been out)

Welcome to the world of transportation, that pretty much sounds normal. Personally, I would do my best to stick with PAM, get some time, and experience in.
