I know when I did the little bit of oversize I've done that the curfews were one of the biggest pains for me. Certainly makes you appreciate being able to run when ya can.

Also makes you appreciate when they finish construction on your route a whole lot more too... trying to knock 2 inches off your height just so they'll finally approve your permit because the big road is down to a single lane and you're only like 10' wide at the height of the #### barriers that are 12' apart and they feel the need to route you 150 miles out of route to avoid the construction...smh...

The bigger telescoping forklifts can be fun to get on a trailer too.

On my second or third one of those, I started using my tape measure to align the wheels.

I'm guessing the answer to that is their top speed being well south of 200 mph. ;)

I have yet to find one that has a self-centering rear steer axle. Some have a light on the dash that tells you when the rear axle is centered though which is nice.

Put it in roundhouse steer, turn all the way one direction that'll max out both axles steering then turn back straight and turn it back to front steer only.

    Ruthless Thanks this.

Loading the new m series cat graders was tricky at first. When used to a steering wheel then you get in there to 2 sticks with ten buttons on each one.

But how would you know when the back wheels are aligned with the chassis without taking measurements from the tires?

LOL I moved an old CAT excavator that was all labeled in Danish. Took dang near an hour to get it started.

Never seen that before. Cat/JLG and Xtreme you have to center the rear axle first, then set it to front steer to center the front axle. With those machines, once the steering on one axle bottoms out, the other one stops wherever its at as well.

    johndeere4020 Thanks this.

Wait until you get something designed by a Frenchman or an Italian.
