The few dozen '14-'16s with LEDs in our yard all work the same.

Same problem here in my 2014 volvo 780. Thru research i learned volvo lights SUCK. This is a very well known and common problem.
Volvo knows and started switching to led lights in 2015, all 2016 have the new light and thier great.
Beware or a cheap conversation kit. They set off a trouble code cause the amp draw is wrong. So the ecm thinks the lights arent working.
A $103 trip to volvo is needed. They can reset the comp so the ecm accepts them.
I was gonna go this route but volvo says this setup is subject to start a electrical fire. (Im not a mechanic, i only no what i was told by the volvo mechanic)
The cheapest after market system i found that works correctly, costs $450. This is what im going to do. Yes its expensive, but cheaper than my insurance deductable if i have a accident at night, cause i couldnt see.
If you go to volvo they will sell you. The new setup which is a new led complete headlight.
Volvo in carisle pa wants $935 each side. I went the trucklite website. They make make them for volvo. But they wont sell it to me. They only sell them to repair shops.flood Thanks this. -
Well I doubt that my company is going to spend that much for the new headlights there for at least spend a little bit of money to go with SilverStar Ultras and see if that will give me a little bit better visibility

Your truck (it is a volvo right) didnt throw any codes when you made the conversion? How big if a difference did it make. I see the picture you posted. But i cant tell new vs old and what is the type and model you switched to?
-
No,there're no codes after conversion. I also installed error canceller.
Thing is hid bulbs use less power than regular halogen bulbs,so computer thinks bulb is our and thats why people get check/error light on and thats why you need those error cancellers.
Difference compared to halogen bulbs is huge,BUT hid wont do you any good if your projectors and headlights are dirty/foggy/yellowish,and headlights need to be properly adjusted.
Im using kensun hid kit that i bought on amazon for i think 50$. Yea,it is cheap but its working good since i installed it,6 months ago.
I also had more expensive morimoto hid kit( 150$ ) but something broke off after few weeks.
It takes 15-20 min to install, its all plug and play,no need to cut or drill anything.
Best combo would be 35W 4300K.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
We had one of our 2017's backed into w/ only 2500 miles. The body shop raised the estimate by $400.00 once they realized it was the LED units....25(2)+2 Thanks this.

Well driving last night I ended up eating my beans a little bit higher than would normally be done but between that and the new headlights I put in it seems to take care of the situation for now. I've spoken with the shop they're supposed to be getting some more buffer for the lenses to see if that will correct the problem if not then they will get me the new lenses.

Can you put a link to the kit info please.
This seems to be the best route especially if your stock halogen hasn't -
Btw .... You can get the pair of factory LED lights at Volvo in Hagerstown MD for $1600 .. pm me if you need details
