I see what you're saying. I don't exactly understand why crst does that because most companies split cpm... right?

Yeah I went back and read his other thread. Prime probably does his tag/ifta/ins and highway usage tax. I can plainly see he doesn't understand how to do personal taxes.

Brand new truck is probably 800-1000 a week. Every week. Then add on all the other nice stuff every week.

Can't answer that. When I was applying I decided I did not want team driving at all. So I stopped researching it altogether. I'm just going by threads I've seen where someone asks what the pay is like and most team drivers who respond seem to do the split thing.

For your purposes it looks like you get 25 cpm for what you drive. If I were you I'd just try to drive as much as you can within HoS to maximize your income and your experience. And be fair to your partner of course.

My understanding of team driving is the team splits the cpm to the truck evenly. Thus you will get 12.5cpms for all miles the truck is paid on. ie 1000 miles is 125 to you.

That's possible. I'd look into that if I were teaming for sure, and make sure I know exactly how it's going to go. Could really suck if you get a lazy partner if that's the case. Another reason I didn't want to team. I do'nt even want to have to think about that crap.
