There is your problem. You believe because someone is an MD, their opinion is the right one.

Those same doctors told us for 40 years to eat less fat, and more carbs, leading to today's obesity epidemic.

In my experience, MD's are some of the most ignorant, provincial, near sighted people in this country. Add to that that many have the ethics of a used care salesman..... You can put your trust in them, but I won't without double checking their opinion three ways.

I knew my DR when he was a RN at the ER and with all the wrecks dealt with the ER a lot. He went on to be a NP so knowing him I switched and a couple years ago he is now a DR and a real good one.

Not sure if that's relevant. It's still a for profit business.

There was already talk of pulling govt funds for it. It will be interesting since since Republicans will hold Washington.

It's likely to be an interesting four years. The way I see it, is we will either accomplish a great deal, or we will be so dragged down in partisan politics that nothing will be accomplished.

I have said this the entire time. Our economy is so tanked we need a business man to work with it.

Well they want to repeal it. They've been hell bent on repealing it. But since the GOP won the election some sanity seems to be returning. See the GOP #####ed and whined and stumped on repealing the ACA since it's inception, but nobody thought to come up with an alternative. And you can't repeal it without either just re-accepting all the old rules, or coming up with new ones, and they are finally realizing this. Not to mention many GOPers are starting to see that the ACA isn't all bad. For example they like the part about not letting insurance companies disqualify pre-existing conditions. They're also fond of not having coverage caps.

So in the end they'll end up with some bastardized version of it but it'll have a different name, and then they can run the next election platform claiming they did what they said they would do, they repealed it. But that's not how it's actually going to be. But since when has truth ever mattered in politics?

I would love to see the public option be brought back into the mix. Not a forced universal health care system. But you can have the option of doing the same old same old and buying your healthcare through the usual providers, but you could also chose to pay more taxes to take the public option. That's a pipe dream though.

The worst thing is the GOP loves these new high deductible plans. I can tell you from experience, they're crap. If all you can afford is that kind of plan, you aren't going to be able to afford to use it. Been there done that.

I could go on and on about health care. But I won't. Or at least, not more for now ;)

I don't know how partisan it will be the Rep's are a majority in everything aren't they? Plus they have the Nuclear option that Harry Reid put into place and was told he would rue the day because of it.
