Once you get to TX, it can probably be done but it is going to be ugly and require utility involvement for sure.
I know in Cali for that height you will need a minimum of 2 chp and 3 escorts,
I doubt that it will be cost effective to move unless it is a truly unique machine or vesselsnowman_w900 and truckdad Thank this. -
Route survey, bucket truck the whole way, permits, cops and escorts.
45 to 90 days start to finish,if the permits get worked out fairly quick.
You will be into 6 figures to get the right truck. -
There are a select few outfits that can move something like that. But getting rte survey, bridge engineering studies done. Then as stated before. The costs will be high. Best thing is to put it in a dual laner setup. I got a friend who works for a company in Oh. Might take 6 months just to get studies all worked out. They are doing a project now Ky to Sc. 6 months to get the rte survey and studies done. 500000 to move it. Plus any extra costs.
PeteyFixAll, johndeere4020, Heavy Hammer and 4 others Thank this. -
First Question: Two loads 24' & 22'6"H, each was 14ish W and 110'L on 9 axles from Houston, TX to Edmonton, AB. Took 6 weeks from load date til arrivals.
Two loads 18'H X 17'W X 150ish long from outskirts of Savsnah, Ga to Lethbrdge, AB. Loads on 13axlle steerable trailers weighing about 140ish.
Second Question: Yes it's possible. 230k payload will be more of the issue than the dimension unfortunately. Finding an axle configuration that is acceptable to all states, particularly Cali, will be the biggest challenge. I don't think a 19 axle can scale that much, in fact with that much well I will almost guarantee it.
Your best option will be a platform trailer. You know all about them...
With platform as the solution, loaded dim's are in the 19 1/2ish feet high. Length is realistic because it has wheels and tires under it instead of having to bridge it. Steering and cornering then becomes simple instead of a challenge. Width is width, who cares, just deal with it. This wil involve extensive planning and bucket trucks along to lift wires as they go, but that's nothing new for them. Probably going to have to support a few bridges along the way and maybe remove and replace a couple signs as well
At this level, your really not talking to anybody on here. The guys that do this stuff are their own clic and don't really share tradecraft publicly.
The two most obvious ones are Mammoet Houston, and Bigge form Cali...there are a few others, but I'm less familiar with them.
Have fun, and good luck!
I predict approx 75-80 days from start of planning to delivery...at the earliestkptnt2016, kbrackett, PeteyFixAll and 7 others Thank this. -
Again Heavy Hammer has the right answers. The dual laner where my buddy works is a trunion setup I believe to help them make weights
Oxbow, johndeere4020 and Heavy Hammer Thank this. -
Yep it is, I just replayed the video, it is a trunion
johndeere4020 Thanks this. -
Barge from gulf. Panama Canal. West coast.
RollinThunderVet, BigTennOTR, DarkhorseEnterprises and 5 others Thank this.
