I dunno, I heard the other day that the Obama "everything-for-free" bus chucked a rod, likely be awhile before it's rebuilt, if ever, good luck....

Haha...I been working since I was 16. I'm 31 now. Guess the whole working thing screwed me..thanks to Obama screwing the coal industry.

You can still get a Pell grant at any community or junior college. If you are prior service there is some Vet money to help out with retraining and here in the western states if you have been out of work "for awhile" you can get retraining money through Work Source. (Please call them for the details.) Then there is the federal school loans as long as you get your CDL through a CC or a JC.

Some Community Colleges will have you in class for 18 weeks. Plus or minus depending on the school. But at least you'll have your license. The CDL course here in Albuquerque, NM (CNN Community College) is 18 weeks.
I'm foregoing the school route. I'll be getting hands on the wheel training from family OTR Drivers. One a company guy, the other an O/O. Both companies allow Riders. That will help prepare me for the realities of OTR. I'll be learning the industry as I learn to control and respect an 80K lb vehicle and it's nuances.
