You take the AA and make it a length that resonates at 27.2 Then you put it on the antenna. It doesn't have to be a full wave or even a half wave, a quarter will do.

Craig, I got to say something else because I am wondering if you are looking at this all wrong because of the amount of info you are getting from everyone. A lot of it is confusing, so have you actually had a second person involved with helping you?

I always figured a mobile dipole would be a pita to work out, so I never messed with one. Mounting location would be too low for one, and with the changes of the ground (earth) surface, as you mention, performance would vary...alot.

In your last paragraph, are you talking about something like 1 or more, g-p radials? That would be an interesting idea to try.

what antenna were you using ???there are better antennas out there than a predator !!! just saw one in the Window at mesa cb in wildweed looks like the antenna rabbi had on the kenworth longer shaft and a thicker center core though... I might look into getting one when their open after the holidays. and when I can get through there ...

Dont know if i would go better cause with a few minor differences it was compared to the 108 whip or is it the 102..
Now it might be better for the crapcadia but thats gettin deep into stuff i dont know..

Yes im back to my old set up..tried to get the 7ft to work out but no luck and it was to cold and gettin dark..So i went back to the original deal to get me by..
