I searched, but didn't find a thread on this. How do you guys get a cable back through its original route into mirror perch?
I see lots of drivers, like me sporting the open wire, smashed into door frame. It looks like crap, and I would like to tidy up.
Is this something for the professionals?
My original wire is long gone.It seems impossible to get another cable back into the original dash/mirror.06 Volvo

Remove the end of the coax?

first you have to take the back of the mirror off. that is a huge pain in the rear trust me. I am personally waiting for it to warm up first so I can do it on my 13 volvo. secondly at least on my truck its a two man job almost cause you gotta take the mirrors out in order to get the back to pop loose then take the back off. after that it is fishing it down through the mirror arms to the side of the truck. after that it is which way do you want to go. again personally I am gonna run mine down through the door to the firewall, then through the firewall under the floor and up through the dash. but like I said I am waiting for it to get warmer, it hasnt been above 10 degrees F for some time.

Volvo VNL780 ran wire up over door and behind refrigerator and under bunk to my amp.
Then ran phasing harness from amp through rubber grommet in floor under cab to rear fairings.
How I did mine -
Did that require any drilling?
-
I drilled a hole where nobody would ever find it. I pulled out the refrigerator and drilled through under the bunk. Fished my cable through and replaced refrigerator.
-
Did the same as rabbi and did noo drilling..I use existing holes from factory..
Just gotta take the time and look around and see what options are -
What did I do??
