So, I got a prehire last week from Werner and was told by the trucking school today that they got the letter but Werner needed to talk to me about an accident 3 years ago and a speeding ticket 2 years ago. I had a call from Schneider to go over my application with them. They told me I was disqualified and said to try back when the accident is five years old. I'm a little discouraged and I am wondering if I can get on with anyone as a new driver now? The accident was 12/2013, I was in my pickup on a county road in a blizzard and another truck came flying over a hill in my lane, when I tried to avoid a head on collision, I slid off into the ditch. No ticket was issued and I wasn't at fault. I was still disqualified from Schneider for this. Anyone's $0.02 would be appreciated.

How is that a accident? No report, no contact, personal vehicle... someone help me out here... why would you even bring it up?

Police showed up and wrote a report. So, it's documented. Otherwise I wouldn't have said anything.

I'd get a copy of that report to submit with my application and if it says basically what you describe, any company that doesnt just ignore it isn't the sort of place you want to work for.

More to this story, Schneider will pretty much take anybody as long as you didn't kill anyone including felons who recently got out of prison for non violent crimes

Yea... I told them exactly what's written here but they said that disqualifies me. So I don't know.

"when I tried to avoid a head on collision, I slid off into the ditch. No ticket was issued and I wasn't at fault."

Not trying to be a buster, okay? Here's the deal: You cut your wheel to avoid an accident. Because you did not swap paint with the pickup, YOU are liable for any and all damages. In other words, you are at fault. Doesn't matter if the cop cited you or not.

These trucking companies know that you are going to get cut off in a truck. They know bad things are going to happen daily. They expect you to hold your lane at all costs.

I would check your mvr anc see what's on that if you simply slide in a ditch and no damage or not turned in on insurance don't think anyone could find just a report made out. If it's not on your mvr don't say anything about it.but if it's on it still a three year old accident you'll find something.
