Do you pay the actual hours worked, or on the hours the trip should take in ideal perfect conditions (also know as cycle time)?

 

The qualifications are in the name itself; you must be homeless and retarded to work there.

 

When I worked there I got paid the actual hours worked. Didn't matter if the trip took an extra hour due to conditions and that happened a lot.

 

Really so lets say your driving from Vancouver to Edmonton. Everything is going great but some truck spun out on the Coq, delays trip by 4 hours. Get rolling again get pulled into Kamloops scales full inspection finds a defect have to wait for a mobile mechanic to come fix truck delays trip another 4 hours. Leave Kamloops everything is going great go across the scales in Hinton lights come on bring papers. Flat tire have to wait 2 hours for Kal tire call out (Theyre super busy). Leave Hinton no problems everything is going great but an hour outside Edmonton there's an accident with a fatality closes the highway for 6 hours. Showed up late to unload have to wait another 4 hours till next unload time

So thats 20 hours total lost in that one trip. Would you be paying for those 20 additional hours on top of the normals hours worked to get that load from Vancouver to Edmonton?

 

Actual hours worked. That's why we pay by the hour. ????

 

In that case with my current job I'm paid by the mile when on the highway but any mechanical breakdowns I'm paid by the hour and waiting to unload. Even accidents I've been paid to sit and wait. Not all companies out there are bad.
