Danny Herman Trucking is a good first choice. Trucks have APU. Will see the west coast often. Also, no New York City or northeast is a good thing for many of us.
Abilene will probably hire you. Many websites have "experience required" for some reason, when they actually do hire new grads.
There's also these that hire new grads and allow the wife to ride:
Freymiller
Magnum Ltd.
Navajo Express
Schuster
Jim Palmer Trucking
Starting at TDI today.

Thanks @Chinatown I appreciate your insight and any other input you may have.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Make some phone calls also and make sure the wife can ride. Policies can change and may not be reflected on the websites.
Titan Transfer has rider program, but probably won't go too far west. They give those runs to teams. Some of your classmates may be interested though.
A Danny Herman driver posted today that you can take the wife along.Last edited: Jan 3, 2017

I have confirmed that with them as well at least through the recruiter.

Second day was boring as all get out. We had to do a homework study guide for general knowledge test last night that we went over this morning. We also finished going over the manual for the general knowledge, air brakes, and finally combination. After lunch we had a recruiter from McElroy trucking come...a flatbed only outfit. Promise good money....starting at 46 cents a mile....says that 65% of loads come tied down and tarped. He had a lot of good things to say, but rushed in, took about 5 min. to give his presentation, then asked for questions. If I hadn't of had a lot of questions, he would have been out the door. It sounded good, but almost too good to be true. Then we finished more studying, and took practice test on computers for about two hours....BORING.... Anyway, supposed to take tests for permit tomorrow....then not sure what.
I sent in an application to Abilene and one to Jim Palmer trucking today. Still looking at Freymiller. Looking at all the suggestions I've been given. Would like to travel coast to coast, and still be able to get to Savannah for home time as much as possible. Let me know if you have any more ideas. -
Keep that in mind; coast to coast. Not all companies run solo driver coast to coast.

When I talked with them before I left school, she said that I had to get my permit first and then get with them. But pretty much hired as long as I do well on my test.Chinatown Thanks this.

Study hard; you'll get there!

Taking my combination tomorrow because I already have class B. They want you to have at least and 85 in the school and an 85 on your driving test. That should be pretty easy I would think.

Just give it your best shot! Relax and don't fight it.
