Hi guys, im new to trucking and im thinking of starting off with averitt around February out of kernersville, nc. Recruiter said they average around 2k a week at 37cpm. My question to any current or former employees is that true? Is it possible i can get even less than 2k because im one of them guys that if im gonna be away from my family i gonna try to get the most miles i can.. better yet what other company other company do any of you all recommend running out southern Virginia?

You aren't going to hit $2000 a week on 3000 miles a week at .37 a mile unless averitt has suddenly become extremely generous with accessorial pay. You should have been able to run those numbers through a calculator yourself and call bs on that recruiter.

The miles are possible but remember you are doing a reset at home every week. That effects miles. To get good miles you need to run through your resets.
Also you have to wear uniforms the lay out for you. A crazy grooming system and no tattoos.
I will say I will never ever ever work for them or the sister companies.Last edited: Jan 4, 2017

I delivered to a small mom & pop consignee in Columbus once, there was a mixup with my appointment. I apologized and the guy told me no big deal since it's usually not a problem with my company. He said that First Express is the worst carrier that's he's ever had to deal with. -
