I delivered the load with another drivers truck. Still in the other drivers truck. 1st truck had A/C in bunk only. This truck has no A/C at all. It's hot here in Florida. Mirror controls didn't work on either truck. Bunk light didn't work in either truck. As well as many other things. No inverters or APUs. Just idle as needed. Ungoverned and paper. I was MT yesterday @ 1400. Sitting @ home still without a load. Was guaranteed 3400 miles per week which equates to $1500 per week, acceptable. W2, but no benefits at all. I have my medical thru the VA. Driver I got the other truck from said it's a $1200 week job, not acceptable. I was told these were dedicated runs (Minnesota-Florida) that they've had for years both northbound and southbound. When I questioned it, they said it was an efficient operation. Had more than 24 hrs too much time on southbound load and been sitting 19 hrs and counting waiting for a northbound load assignment. I don't know if they can't afford to keep the trucks up, don't want to keep the trucks up, or don't have time to keep the trucks up. Overall, Not looking good at all. I will address matters when I get to Minnesota. Just venting on here for now.

There should have been fuel lines to the tanks, close em off back there and wait a minute. Choke that kitty. Most every tractor Ive had usually had valves on each line.

Nice little video. I hate to hear a engine die like that but it is what it is.

I suspect someone told you it will be 1500 a week and someone else is showing you 1200 a week actual. Was the 1500 a week story from a recruiter? Or did the story come from the actual person dispatching on these loads?

Trucking is a feast and famine, you have savings set aside for weeks in which the miles are short or none. That is how you survive. Most drivers fail to build savings and end up borrowing via comcheck which sets up a debt cycle that leads them to being eliminated as a liability.

Never seen fuel lines with shutoff valves on any of my trucks, I've seen valves to shut off the balance system between tanks. If there are, I won't be the one reaching for it on a runaway engine, that's plain dumb thing to do. I've seen what damage that can happen when engines explode on dyno's

If this happens with any of my trucks, I tell the drivers; make sure no one is around, get back and just let it go, the damage is already done.

I forgot about that but ... really the damage is done once it goes past the rev limits.

I've had volvos and freightliner with them just under the drivers door above the battery box. Two levers one for the right tank and one for the left.
Last time I saw a truck with them was about 18yrs ago.
These trks also had the tanks mounted forward, fill cap right under door

Yeah see the oldest truck I owned is a '99 and since my oldest now is a 2009, I don't see them at all. I asked my mechanic to confirm and he said he has not seen them since 2001.

I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years. But honestly, if it was that tractor in the first video I wouldn't have walked up next to that screaming monster to do it.

    I'm just to much of a ##### I guess....
