[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]I know its been a while since we started this thread. So I tore my engine down finally only to find the block has the worst case of electrolysis I've seen. Keep in mind this is a 3406c 3am engine. I have a 3406c peec 4ck engine. I figure ill tear that down and use the block since they are the same. I noticed that there was a difference in the pistons. The bowl size is larger on speed engine. Any thoughts as to why.

It's important to match the piston to the fuel nozzle as well as cooling jet nozzle. I like lower compression but that's just me

Why do you prefer the low compression piston? And which one is which? What nozzles should I be running with either piston. I want to make sure I get every thing right. I rebuilding the engine so I want the best combination of parts. For what I'm trying to do. I would like 500hp form it. The c peec we converted to mechanical and it ran awesome had power to spare. Bit seemed very loud. Kinda like a pre ignition knock for a lack of better words.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

I felt that might be the problem. So we tried to re set the timing. Mind you this was like 10 years ago. I'm thinking now that the advance may have been bad.. @SmokinCAT I would like to pick your brain a bit on this build. I have a 7e-888 pump that has about 20k on it so I don't want to change the pump. With that pump what piston and nozzles should I use to achieve the 500 I'm looking for. If possible. I know that isn't the pump every body says to use. But its what I have.

10R-1439 cylinder pack, 0r8789 for a hi power nozzle or 0r8790 for less fuel.

Oxbow and wore out Thank this.
