IMO... I have a spring ride... Every once in awhile, a shipper will want a air ride trailer. But is very rare. I guess the other thing to consider, is the ride. The air ride trailer would be a better overall ride.

Air ride is the norm with most companies these days. Shippers and receivers wan the goods delivered in one piece, and/or in good condition. As for a Reefer trailer, it is very versatile in hauling capabilities for both dry, and reefer loads.

Schneider, JB Hunt, Knight etc all use spring ride trailers and haul thousands of loads a day. They use them because maintenance costs are cheaper, and the wahoos they hire would never know or report the air bags being flat due to something as simple as a leveling valve.

Me personally, I want an air ride trailer if I'm spending my money.

I have one air ride trailer that I got with a truck I bought, it is sitting in a yard in Indiana waiting to be used. All the others are spring ride and no one has yet to complain.

The newer composite spring ride trailers, just like the older ones, ride rough as hell until loaded heavy.

Air ride also saves on tyres.

I thought the spring rides were naturally extinct already. Just like cab-overs.
