Probably only about 20 minutes longer depending on the time. Sturbridge to Auburn on the pike can take forever some days. Then you got 290 to 190 which is no picnic either.

The route I used to take was Mass Pike east to 290 to 190 and on average that was about an hour and a half drive. The way I take home now can take up to two hours because of the lower speed limits on parts of Route 2 since it goes from a 4 lane highway to two lanes from Greenfield east to near Orange (about 25 miles).

 

I know I travel it a couple times a month but I get off in Orange @ Rt 122/202 as I live in Holden and work in Sutton. We have customers in Springfield, Greenfield and Pittsfield. Maybe some day the state will expand to 4 lanes out to N Adams.

 

Meh,they would probably institute a tax increase to do it.lol
