I have a 06 Columbia with a 14L Detroit. I replaced the seal on the rear of the transmission today and now my odometer is flashing. It reads fine, and the speedometer reads fine but it continually flashes. Only thing I had to do was drop the driveshaft and unbolt the plate on the rear of the tranny to replace the seal. I did attempt to lightly remove the speed sensor, it is mounted on the back of the trans aiming down to the top of the driveshaft , but It was froze and would not budge. I'm going to crawl back under it and check things again, but I haven't heard of this before.. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

make sure the yoke is tight and the ring is tight for the speed sensor sometimes they get loose and make these kind of problems also check it the plug is in properly and make sure the wires for speed sensor are good. i personally like to ziptie the wires to the plug being that they go bad from vibration right outside connector.

It flashes because is time for service. You accidentally set up some miles when playing with your odometer and when these miles passed, the odo starts flashing. Most of the Columbia's have this feature.

The fix is: clear your odo setting and set it to another 15k miles or whatever you change the oil or you you can just set to 0. It looks like this "- - - - - -" and will never flash again.

Mine did this after I repaired some wiring.
I disconnected the battery's and it reset everything.
No problem in two months now.

If you disconnect the batteries for 15 min, this works to. :)
