Copy that. Y'all seem like good guys. I appreciate y'all answering my questions.

Not whole lot of the newer drivers even know what a CB would be used for if they had one. With the invention of cell phones more people are using those instead.
With all the trash that tends to get spouted over it I find myself turning it down or off more and more often. Almost never have it on around major cities or big truck stops. I try to keep it on as much as I can.
There have been many times that I've passed truck with parts dragging on the ground and tried to raise them only to be met with static. Go by waving at them with the mic in hand and they just look at me and go right back to drooling on their shirt.Chewy352, mc8541ss, PeteyFixAll and 4 others Thank this. -
You will fit right in as a pilot driver...lolChewy352, spyder7723, KANSAS TRANSIT and 3 others Thank this.

We use them out in the woods and for rescues. Usually don't have cell service where I end up. I was driving back from Ga a couple weeks ago and was hoping to find someone to talk to or listen to so I would stay awake.

Thank you. I can dish it out and take it too.KANSAS TRANSIT, 4mer trucker, CharlieK and 1 other person Thank this.

I have one in my pickup at home too. Use it mostly for trying to notify trucks of problems they may want to be aware of or as a backup escort vehicle for local oversize stuff if our normal truck is busy.

I've got to remove mine to put in the new cage so was wondering with it was worth putting it back in. Otherwise I am going to have to fab a new bracket. The new cage won't let it sit on the dash.

I use this:
https://www.amazon.com/Cobra-75WXST-40-Channel-CB-Radio/dp/B00005N5WW
It's nothing amazing but the only hard mounted part is hidden behind the dash. The mic has all the controls and screen on it so I can just unplug it if I want it completely hidden in the truck. -
Funny I had looked at that. Might go to it so there is less stuff inside. New cage will take a lot of room and well I am a woman. Not like I travel light. Purse, recovery gear, tools, ect lol
