Owner operator based in MA looking for options. My last lease-op position fell through, so it's re-start time. I would consider another company to lease on with, or start my authority again. My experience is petroleum (5 compartment..12,000), and dump trailer. Been driving since 1998. Current HazMat, tank, and TWIC. Truck is Pete 389 heavy spec'd. 13.2/46K axles, 50/52 fifth wheel height, 260" wheelbase, 550 with 18..3.73. I still have my dump trailer, but work up here slows in winter. Also would need to install wet system, as my last work has been fuel. Truck is set up for wet system (PTO switch on dash, split tank..etc). Any thoughts or suggestions, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Northeast Owner Op....any work...??

tbdieseltrucking Thanks this. -
Who did you work for before?
Noonan might be a option.
@Cat sdp who are the other players up in mass for tanks?tbdieseltrucking Thanks this. -
Alot of salt coming out of Chelsea and on the otherside of the river in Charlestown if you are out east.Salt city in Westfield might be hiring trucks in western mass.I have a buddy that works for Goulet in South Deerfield as a company driver that always seems busy working regional. I don't know if they lease owner operators on but it's worth a call.do you have dot or mc authority?
tbdieseltrucking Thanks this. -
Kag or perfomance maybe..... Pulling that kind of tank he should know the players .
I'd think about that wet system and dump trailer. If the swamp critters in DC do a big infrastructure deal const will be jumping.......77fib77, Big_D409, tbdieseltrucking and 2 others Thank this. -
Yeah I forgot about Performance up in Fitchburg?
tbdieseltrucking Thanks this. -
Thanks for the responses. I do know the players up here for petroleum. Worked for one of them, and the other wasn't going to work out. I have applied to Performance, but after two phone calls to follow up, I haven't heard back. Also applied to QC, with no phone call either.
I do have my DOT and MC, just need to reactivate both, as my last position was lease op. Was thinking of renting a flat, and running regional up here until dump trailer season starts for me in March. Right now, it's about the almighty dollar. Weighing options in winter to move in a different direction. Wet system needs to be installed before dump trailer can work. Goulet is looking for company regional at this time. I have contacts for flat work, but most of it is lumber and landscape products. My last flatbed gig was in 2005, and all pallets. No tarps and have not tarped a flat load.....common sense....but haven't done it. -
I also have two offers to drive company trucks, but that would mean selling mine. That's the last, final option. One is local, the other is OTR. It's been nice running local and regional all these years.

How is the rate this year? Truck needs wet system first. Snow tomorrow.
