I think you might be surprised if you experimented. If I added a piece of RG58 to my cable in my Tahoe I would be unable to hear Jason down at mile marker 107 from the pilot up on Interstate 80.
I'll have to do a demonstration when the opportunity presents itself

In case you didn't notice we were struggling to hear each other in those last couple videos. Introducing any more noise into either one of our receivers or introducing any more loss to either one of our transmitters would definitely prevent us from being able to communicate since we were pretty much pushing things to the Limit.

I'm running a mirror mount bracket right now not my pole mount and running a hustler antenna with no issues I believe I could easily run that coax but I'd be curious of the benefits I'd see over the lmr 400 I'm running now ???

something I noticed if I run my key down antenna or this hustler my bottom lights do not flash on/off when I key up and talk. if I run my predator or 7ft. firestik they flash on and off yes I'm running my 350 watt magnum. no linear/amp involved its sleeping on a shelf till the winter's over. all I can figure is the keydown-hustler antennas are better grounded antennas ?

Dude, I've done a lot of experimenting, and hardline is not useful. You could have gotten the same result with 8 or even 213, the insertion losses are negligible at that frequency and with the length of wire you are talking about. The connectors may be more of an issue than the coax.

So what kind of "special coax" do I need to get? I got 18' of the RG8 stuff for my slip seating job. I can't really fish the coax into and around each truck everyday. I run the same style truck day in and day out, Just a different truck number.
