I had no fear of driving in the snow. Then I ran off the road clipping a mailbox into the ditch. I was on 136 in Ohio. I went around a curve and into the ditch.
It happened during the blizzard of 95. I was on my was back to Mayport Florida. I should have just asked for a leave extension. Live and learn. I have had fear ever since. I got pulled out and drove to Florida. There was snow and ice as far Atlanta.

Well sitting here at bh brooklyn. Since tuesday morning this makes my 5th pu or del in nyc and 3rd in 24 hours. Yesterday morning was hill going to the area of flatbush ave ext and willoughby ave. You think parkings bad in and around bh, try brooklyn heights and that general area, which is near that 12 6 overhang and brooklyn bridge. Ended up parking on tillery street near bqe on a sidewalk thingy that everyone else parks on. Had about 5 inches on drivers side to a pushed away fence and about 2 inches on passenger before tires and truck was in road. Was lucky to keep all mirrors intact.
Ended up walking to the site since i had parking and all i had for address was an intersection. Found the underground garage. Huge space. Even made a uturn in there so i was out the way sinve they were using tow truck to offload.
After unload got sent to bronx for pickup with very specific instructions to call the shipper and follow their directions exactly since the previous driver introduced his trailer to a bridge. Ended up taking a tour of brooklyn trying to get out.
Then swapped with a driver in new jersey. 1700 and even the ta on 78 was full. Found a spot. Its annoying that so many drivers are scared of a lil moonlight.
I have now sucessfully completed a pu or del in all 5 boroughs and on li. Today i feel like a local nyc driver not a regional driver. LolExtremeUnction, Redtwin, Movin On and 4 others Thank this. -
I am waiting for an HP load that should be ready sometime today. I dropped an empty there late last night and counted 12 of our trailers in the loaded trailer area and thought that there would be no delay in getting out of Richmond. Anyway it's not just me waiting as JohnBoy is slumped over in his driver's seat presumably waiting for a load too. -

My miles took a dive this week which results in me thinking about taking a week off in the near future.JohnBoy Thanks this. -
One instance actually required me to drive my tractor across oncoming traffic and up on the sidewalk to clear the pole. Fortunately, a fellow trucker was in the oncoming traffic lane, saw my plight, and gave me plenty of room to do the deed.
If there's an easier way to get out of northern New Jersey, I'm all ears.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this. -
What a last couple of days. First my truck gets sent to KW for a new transmission cooler. Then my load to California was taken away from me because my new trainee had an issue with his drug screen. (Not going to get involved with that), then I get my new load, 2 drops, Houston then Laredo. Except when it was being put together on my trailer at our loading dock, it was decided that because of the way the 100k piece of machinery was bolted onto the trailer, they couldn't move it to put the Laredo in the nose. So, the 18 crates going to Laredo are being delivered first, then back tracking to Houston to deliver this machine. With all the stress with my ghost trainee, this load being put on my trailer, and this hell raising storm that's going to wipe out the southern states, I have a migraine. Be safe everyone this weekend. Johnboy is going to bed.
